Ergastulum is a tough town, the kind of place where the rule of law takes a backseat to the law of violence, and where Handymen like Nic and Worick make a living doing odd jobs for their clients, from routine deliveries to extrajudicial killings. Discreet, ruthless, and efficient, the men are respected by both the police brass and the Mafia dons, but it took many long, hard years for them to make their names. Behind those years is the hidden history of how the scion of an elite family and a boy soldier of the Twilights ranks formed an improbable, unbreakable bond.
This is more personal than I usually get on here but I’m relocating cities as of tomorrow so I’m not going to have access to my general possessions (including my manga/scanner/all that jazz) in the immediate future. I’m going to continue purchasing @Bunch and Go Go Bunch as normal, but I won’t have access to said magazines until I can get myself established in a new living situation. I’ll continue with other updates from official sources as often as time allows. I hope you guys understand and know that I’m going to work to the best of my ability to get things back to normal ASAP. Thanks for following and for reading the series. Next time I post I’ll be somewhere new~! ^^
Kohske has opened an ask.fm account (taking over from her previous interviews.jp account). You can ask her questions there. Please keep in mind that she is not fluent in English and you will have to compose any questions in Japanese.
Edit: JAPANESE LANGUAGE ONLY, GUYS. SERIOUSLY. DON’T BE A DICK.
OK so let’s get the bad news out of the way first, GANGSTA. is on hiatus this month because Kohske has been ill (hospitalised) again. Let’s all wish her well and hope she’s back on her feet soon.
In terms of good news, the official online @Bunch store is now stocking the GANGSTA. poster & Kohske postcard sets previously only available at the Go Go Bunch display in Tokyo. Unfortunately you’ll need to be in Japan or have a suitable proxy service at your disposal if you would like to purchase these items. The poster & postcard set are the first GANGSTA. products to be listed in the official @Bunch store.
A bunch of online bookstores have added the third volume of GANGSTA. from VIZ Media to their databases over the past few days. I’ve updated the GANGSTA. English Pre-Order Links page accordingly. The first volume hits shelves in February, the second in May and the third in August of 2014. Please support Kohske and pre-order your copies when you get a chance~!
Please don’t inbox me and curtly tell me the romanizations used on this blog are incorrect based solely on current scanlation chapters. I’ve made a point of not posting romanizations without them having been verified in the manga itself. If you think I’m messing something up big time, by all means please message me — I love taking new ideas on board. However, there really is no need to be rude about potential errors. I run this blog in my spare time and try very hard to provide what I can on it. You can let me know you think I’ve messed up without calling me ‘stupid’. :/
For the record, these are all confirmed romanizations:
Next post from me should be brighter — chapter thirty time, yo~ ^^
Edit: And by the same token, please don’t dog pile the scanlators over romanization quibbles. Romanizations aren’t usually clear in the magazine chapters that the scanlators work from, thus it’s difficult to clarify most of these until volume releases. The scanlation team work extremely hard to bring you GANGSTA. chapters. If you have an issue with the quality of their releases, EG Scans are always looking for more staff — offer to donate your time and give them a hand.
In fantastic news for French fans, Glénat have licensed GANGSTA. for a 2014 French language release. The first volume will be available on January 3rd, while the second will follow on March 5th. GANGSTA. is not the first @Bunch series to be released by Glénat. The long-running Woodstock and popular BTOOOM! are also being released in French through the company.
You can find volume information on the Glénat official site (see here). Additionally, Amazon France is already listing both the first and second volumes for pre-order.
I finally broke down and ordered a duplicate of Go Go Bunch specifically so that I have a copy of the art book to flatten for HQ scanning. So yes, HQ art book scans will be a thing that will happen. Next week, if all goes to plan.
Then after that, maybe the first chapter of DOODLE if nobody else jumps on it beforehand. I’m pretty pressed for time so at the moment the art book is my priority.
